Byron “Pastor B” and Nikeisha “Pastor Keisha” Wicks moved to Hillside, IL in the summer of 2016. They have served as leaders together in ministry for over 12 years. The first church they joined together was Valor Faith Ministries in Zion, IL where they led worship and taught bible study classes. In the summer of 2017 they launched a children’s ministry outreach program called Parkside Sunday School that takes the gospel to the parks in Maywood, Bellwood and Hillside, IL.
They have also served as youth pastors at God’s House of Brotherly Love Church (now New Life Today Church) in Bellwood, IL until leaving March of 2018 (Under the guidance of Bishop Pam Lawrence) to carryout a God-given vision to plant a church in Maywood, IL. Byron & Keisha Wicks were ordained on April 15, 2018.
Together, Byron and Keisha founded Next Generation Church leading a vision that God stirred up in their spirits to love, empower and equip all generations to live for Christ and fulfill their God-given purpose. The non-denominational ministry was planted on September 30th, 2018 with a desire to represent and embrace multi-generations and multi-ethnicities in the Proviso Township area.
They spend their time meeting with and mentoring people, studying and preaching God’s Word, preparing and hosting small group Bible studies, volunteering at community events and caring and praying for Next Generation Church Members and the people of the Proviso Township area, every day. Their God-given heart’s desire is to see people saved, redeemed, transformed, and fulfilled through the power of the Holy Spirit at Next Generation Church.
Byron and Keisha, along with their four children – Byron Jr. “BJ” , Naomi, Bary and Nadia – love traveling together, watching movies, game nights with friends and family, and playing sports.
