Day 9 – God’s Plan and Purpose for Us – “21 Days of Prayer”

I hope that Day 8 was a new beginning for everyone to walk in big faith and boldness on the path to finish this race called life.

Our prayer focus for Day 9 is for everyone to find their God-given purpose and plan for their life.

In retrospect and today, we’ve had our parents, mentors, coaches, teachers and maybe even friends tell us who we are and what we should do in our lives. They usually base their decision off of what they know about us (personality, skills, interests) but unfortunately, it’s not always God’s will.

Some of you probably already have an idea of what God’s plan is for your life. But so many of us (children and adults) struggle to find and pursue our divine purpose because we allow our assignments to define who we are and what we do. The truth is that our identity and purpose is found in Christ only. Our assignments will change in life but our purpose and identity doesn’t. Our plans may change but God’s plan remains the same.

So the million dollar question is, how do we figure out what God’s purpose and plan is for our life? Well, sometimes it’s not spoken from a person’s mouth so we must seek God deeper (pray, worship, study, serve) for it to be revealed.

We will pray that God’s will is made clear to all who are still searching. We will pray that we all stay the path that God has planned for us no matter what obstacles may come our way.

Prayer:

Father God, Thank you for giving us an identity in Jesus Christ, a purpose and plan that never changes. No matter what trials, setbacks, or difficulties we face, we are grateful that You are there comforting and guiding us to a prosperous future. Help us to remember that we are loved and that you have a perfect will for our lives. May Your people hold on tight to faith, hope and love as they humbly seek You for their unique purpose and plan to be revealed. Lord give us the strength and grace we need to stay the path you’ve made for us. In Jesus name’. Amen.

Scripture:

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”

~ Jeremiah 29:11-13

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

~ Romans 12:1-2
