You have finished your first week of fasting and fervent prayer and I hope it has been a great week for you.
God has been so faithful because we have humbled ourselves to come before Him and we know He’s not done yet. If you fell off the wagon, get back on. I repeat, God’s not done yet. 🙌
Our prayer focus today is ‘Unity in the Church’. The bible refers to the Church as the body of Christ with Jesus being the head. Like the body has many different parts that are crucial for it’s ability to function properly, so does the Church. Every member has already been given talents, special abilities and spiritual gifts to help accomplish the great commission (Preaching the gospel and allowing the Holy Spirit to save lost souls). Though they might be different titles or gifts, no part is greater than another. However, It’s the enemy’s plan to tell lies to get pride, insecurities and discord to rise up with a goal to dismantle the body. No body. No impact.
In this season (and every season), we desperately need our churches to unite. We will believe for the Church to make Jesus the center of our ministries powered by the Holy Spirit. With Jesus being the head (leading our ministries) and the grace of God nothing will be impossible for us to accomplish.
We will pray that every individual discovers what their called to do in the body of Christ and has the faith to operate with humility, passion, compassion, integrity and most importantly the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22). We’re believing for even more ministries to collaborate and focus on making an impact in their families, communities, nation and world.
Prayer:
Father God, we thank you for the Church. Your word says that Jesus loved the Church so much that He gave His life for it and is the head. We will not take for granted the importance of believers uniting together for worship, prayer and to make a greater impact in the lives of Your people.
Thank you for allowing the Holy Spirit to enable us to show love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. Let our buildings be a place of worship, prayer, fellowship, unity and an open-doored safe haven for all people.
Help us to extend grace, mercy and forgiveness just as You do. Lord help us to always present ourselves as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to you so that Your kingdom will come and Your will is done on earth.
In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Scripture:
“so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it. Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.”
~ 1 Corinthians 12:25-27
